David S. White has made six short films. His third short film was accepted to the New Orleans Film Festival for 2005. Unfortunately, due to the events after Katrina, that film festival never happened. However, that film, called The Date, will show at the 2006 film festival in October. Bitten by the writing bug at the early age of 12, after reading The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien and remarking to his father that he was amazed how the story played like a movie in his head, David White began writing short stories. He went on to major in creative writing at the University of New Orleans. One day, having graduated and taken a job in the computer industry, David took a legal pad and pen to a local coffeeshop and started writing his first screenplay. After three months of writing every night, he was hooked. Deciding that the only way he would ever see the script made into a film was to make it himself, he went out and bought books on how to be a film maker and started making films. David has since founded a production company called Penguin Productions. Located in New Orleans, his company produces short films, documentaries and even wedding videography. |
